“Serious floods broke out again in the Yangtze River basin in China in recent days. At the end of August, many cities and counties in Sichuan Province, including Leshan, Meishan, and Ya’an, were hit by heavy rains. Large areas of cities and villages were flooded. Mudslides washed away power lines. Some people were washed away by the flood, and witnesses were helpless. On Tuesday, the water level at the Chongqing Cuntan Hydrological Station on the Yangtze River soared by more than 5 meters within 24 hours. The Three Gorges Dam continued to release floods, and the disaster-stricken areas in Anhui and other places on the lower reaches of the Yangtze River have been soaked in the flood for more than a month.
Qionglai Pingle Town in Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan Province, was also hit by heavy rains and caused a flood that has not been seen in a century.”
